Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was pleased with his side’s win over Wolves despite coming close to conceding a goal at times.

Arsenal took the lead through Kai Havertz but were left with defensive errors that almost cost them goals. With a header from Jurgen Strand Larsen and a shot from Matheus Cunha both saved by David Raya. Before Bukayo Saka’s final goal gave the Gunners their target of three points. UFABET

“We should have increased the gap early on.” Arteta said after the game. “It wasn’t enough at 1-0 and credit to Wolves. They put pressure on us as well.”

“But I’m very happy overall. The team did well in many ways. We had enough chances in the first half to kill the game, but we didn’t do it.”

“If we really want to be a top team, we have to be consistent in winning and find a way to win. Which we did in the second half.”

The Gunners boss also praised Kai Havertz, who scored the opening goal. Saying: “Kai Havertz was involved in a lot of good moments. He scored great goals and found good positions.”

It’s clear why Arteta raised his dissatisfaction at the holes in Arsenal’s performance, given how high the stakes are this year in the Premier League.

After recording back-to-back second-place finishes in the league table. The Gunners understand now more than ever just what it takes to dethrone Manchester City.
